‘Your Journey Starts Here’ is a workbook designed to guide students through some of the biggest decisions of their education. The book was created with Year 10 and Year 11 students in mind, but content may be suitable for students from other age groups. From thinking about their general interests and strengths, through Further Education choices and moving into Higher Education, students are guided through prompts and activities to help them explore the options available to them. The workbook also includes a section dedicated to health and wellbeing, allowing students to tap into self-care tips, explore mindfulness and learn more about topics such as stress, sleep and nutrition.
We have also developed a range of PowerPoint resources that link to the different sections in the workbook, which can be downloaded from the window below. You may find these useful if delivering the workbook in a group setting.
The workbook can be used in a variety of ways:
· Alongside our ‘Your Journey Starts Here’ PowerPoint resources as a series of sessions, workshops or tutorials.
· As standalone sessions to complement other provision, e.g. a student finance session, or a session on applying through UCAS.
· Independently by students to complete however they choose.
We’d also encourage practitioners to familiarise themselves with the content before delivery, and to get creative with their use of the workbook. Please feel free to deliver it in whatever way suits your students best!
We offer a printable PDF, which can be printed either in full or in sections according to your needs, and an interactive PDF that allows students to complete the activities directly within the document. You can find both of these documents in the download window below.
