GHWY Manager: Helen Sykes (left image)
I work closely with the GHWY Board on the organisation’s strategic approach and priorities. I also lead the Access and Participation Strategy Group, which brings together contacts from across GHWY’s 13 HE Provider members to particularly support access to and success in HE for students from backgrounds under-represented in higher education. This includes the strategic approach behind the development and delivery of activities for prospective students and their key influencers, as well as organising CPD and the sharing of good practice for staff working in HE.
Contact me if you would like to have a conversation about ways in which GHWY can work with your organisation to support care-experienced young people to consider HE and make informed decisions about their futures.
GHWY Higher Level Skills Manager: Clare Jackson (centre image)
I manage the Go Higher Skills Group with a focus on addressing inequalities experienced by graduates when seeking employment or further study opportunities. This includes the development of resources for regional employers that promote the benefits of engaging with HE, workforce diversity and recruiting regional graduate talent.
Contact me if you would like to discuss ways in which GHWY could work with your organisation to support care-experienced young people into higher or degree apprenticeships; graduate-level work or further study. We are also keen to share best practice approaches implemented by employers to support care-experienced young people transition from study to the workplace.
GHWY Collaborative Outreach Officer: (vacancy)
The Collaborative Outreach Officer works closely with the Access and Participation Strategy Group to support the development and delivery of activities with a focus on reducing inequalities in access to and success in Higher Education. This includes direct delivery and evaluation of collaborative HE outreach activity, as well as organising CPD and good-practice sharing opportunities for staff in HE.
GHWY Partnership Assistant: Susan Darlington (right image)
I support the GHWY team across the Access and Participation Strategy Group, Go Higher Skills Group, and Board. I also edit the monthly e-newsletters for HE Providers (aimed at partners and stakeholders) and Beyond Care (aimed at those who work with care experienced young people).
Contact me if you have a news story or event that you would like to promote in one of our monthly e-newsletters, would like to write a blog about your experience of working with care experienced young people, or if you have any updates for our Collaborative Care Leaver Covenant.
