Join us for two interactive workshops that will give looked after young people the opportunity to explore what their future could hold while gaining access to higher education professionals.
GHWY’s Foster Family Fun Day will feature a tour of Leeds City Museum’s latest exhibition, Michael Morpurgo: A Lifetime in Stories, which includes props and manuscripts from the well-loved children’s author.
Attendees will then take part in an animal shadow puppet workshop, led by Leeds Arts University, and a fun environment workshop, run by the University of Huddersfield. They will have the chance to find out more about higher education during the activities.
The free event is open to children and young people who are currently in care, aged 5-16 from across West Yorkshire, and their foster carers / residential staff. Spaces are limited so please book now via Eventbrite. Note that adults attending with children and young people do not need a ticket.
Lunch will be provided.
Our partnership event is being held in collaboration with Leeds City Museum and is being supported by Leeds Arts University, University of Huddersfield, and student ambassadors from Leeds Beckett University.
Parking is not available on site but attendees who use the Rose Bowl Car Park, LS1 3HB, will be reimbursed upon production of a valid receipt.
If you have any questions about the event please contact Natalie at Go Higher West Yorkshire on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0113 343 9532.
